M16 - The Eagle Nebula |
| M16, the Eagle Nebula, is located in the constellation Serpens. It consists of a vast cloud of nebula surrounding a bright open star cluster. This object gets its name from the dust feature in the center. New stars are being formed in these regions. The spectacular Hubbell telescope image named Pillars of Creation actually shows the embryonic stars contained in what is known as EGGs (Evaporating Gaseous Globules). | ||
